Bitmoji FUN!

Bitmojis are everywhere in 2020 and of course we wanted to make sure we kept up with the trend! In October, we sent home bitmoji versions of all the teachers, Bar and Michelle with a fun (and optional) BINGO game! We have loved getting all the pictures and can’t wait to see more!

We loved seeing Bar rock out with Hebrew letters made from nature,

with Shabbat candles before lighting,

and checking out the mezuzzah!

Bar, Michelle and Morah Lili loved joining in for Havdalah.

And you never know where Michelle will turn up next!

Join our Shofar Squad! No experience is necessary. This is an opportunity to learn and participate in this ancient ritual. Both children and adults are encouraged to learn how to blow a shofar properly. Please join us on zoom using the link below!
Thanks to Tifereth Israel’s own Sisterhood, each Torah School student will have a shofar of their own.

Wednesdays: September 2nd, 9th and 16th at 4:00 p.m.

Email Illana at torahschool@tiferethisrael.com for zoom link information!

September Calendar

Because everything changes so regularly, we will be sending out a supplemental calendar for each month with your supply materials. Basic meetings should not change much, however, there may be new details and events you will need to know. Check out our September Calendar below! I have also provided a link for the 5781 Calendar with all the weeks we will be holding Torah School this year.

Registration is Open for the 5781/ 2020-2021 School Year!

Hello Abraham Ratner Torah School Families!

Below you will find a link to the 2020-2021 Registration Form (or you can click the tab at the top of the page). Upon completion of the Registration Form, you will be sent an editable PDF of the remaining supplemental forms. You will only need to fill out one form per family.

While I have plans ready for in person instruction, we will start the year with the whole school under the distance learning format at least through the High Holy Days (mid-October). After that, once it has been determined by the State, County and our Medical Committee, those who are interested in participating in an outdoor, in person, socially distant, option will be provided that opportunity.

The needs of the children and concerns from families have been at the forefront of my mind. I understand that there is a concern with screen time but also a concern with in person interaction. I am committed to offering creative learning solutions and assessments for our students while also taking into consideration class size, screen time and Hebrew and Prayer benchmarks. I will be inviting registered parents in smaller groups to Zoom meetings where I will explain the plans, weekly schedules and curriculum in more detail. I will also answer any questions that you may have. If you would like to chat before then, please feel free to send me an email at tsdirector@tiferethisrael.com and we can set up a call.

I look forward to the school year and being able to interact with your children again. I appreciate your commitment to Judaism and providing the opportunity for your children to learn and grow with me and my teachers.

Sincerely,
Michelle Barbour
Director of Jewish Education and Youth Engagement
